platycerium bifurcatum

Platycerium bifercatum, pencil drawing

A new adventure!

Amy Van Stensel has had a life long interest in both botanical and scientific illustration. In college, she created illustrations of a number of aquatic plants so that the Department of Natural Resources could better identify the species. From that point she moved to more fine art botanical paintings, but has recently revisted the field of strict, scientific and botanical painting.

Amy has begun a certificate program at the Denver Botanic Gardens and will be updating this page frequently with new samples of her scientific and botanical work.

Interested in her work?

As stated above, Amy Van Stensel has done illustration work in the past and would love to create illustrations for whatever purposes are necessary. For scientific and botanical work she has exprience using graphite, carbon dust, colored pencil and watercolor. Please contact her at art@amyvanstensel.com with further inquiries.
